About hans

Hans Odde was born in Thermopolis, Wyoming, in 1967 and grew up with deep roots in the area, particularly on his grandparents’ ranch. Through nine years in 4-H, he showed breeding and market sheep — an experience that shaped his work ethic and appreciation for Wyoming's agricultural heritage. He graduated from Hot Springs County High School in 1986, then went on to attend the University of Wyoming.

Hans began his career in business, coming to manage two Corral West Ranchwear stores. That hands-on management experience — leading people, running operations, serving customers — proved to be the right foundation for his future in public service.

In 2003, he was elected Hot Springs County Clerk, a position he held for three consecutive terms before bringing his experience to Park County in 2015, where he continued his service to county government by serving as Park County’s First Deputy Clerk.

On a personal note, Hans is married to Michelle, whom he describes as his rock, his friend, and his campaign manager. Together they have a beautiful blended family of four children: his daughter Erika (and her husband Derek) live in Minnetonka, Minnesota, with their three girls; his son Reid (and his wife Kait) live in Lander, Wyoming, with their pup Luna; his stepdaughter Tatum lives in Girdwood, Alaska, with her boyfriend Dylan, a husky named Palooki, and a cat named Big Mac; and his stepson Keifer is graduating from the University of Wyoming in May after completing a double major in computer programming and mathematics in four years.

Outside of work and family, Hans enjoys fly fishing whenever he can (and fly tying, too), along with hiking, rock hunting, and rafting. He also values time outdoors with his Labrador, Millie, and he and Michelle enjoy camping, traveling, and gathering with good friends. These interests reflect his love of Wyoming’s landscapes and a steady commitment to community and connection.
